NEWSFLASH – May 20, 2009 Memorial Day Parade & Picnic
The following is the schedule information band students need for the Memorial Day parade and picnic on Monday, May 25.
7:30 a.m.: Percussionists arrive at school to collect equipment. (If Mr. E. is not there a custodian will let you in.)
8:00 a.m.: All students arrive at the Ziegler parking lot on 94th St. between Lyndale and 35W. All students must wear their WHITE marching band t-shirt and either khakis or jeans. (Mr. E. will announce this in class. If you do not have a marching band t-shirt, you must wear a PLAIN, clean white t-shirt.) The drum major will line up the band. There will also be some parents on hand to help.
9:00 a.m.: Step off and march south on Lyndale Ave. to the cemetery. Perform upon arrival at cemetery. Once you are done performing, you will be excused to leave and return to the parking lot and to school if necessary.
11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.: Picnic at Moir Park – all band and orchestra students and parents are invited. Everyone who comes brings food to share. The directors will assign specific food items to sections.
Chaperones: We need 4-5 parents to help line up the band and walk the parade route with them. If you would like to help, please respond to this e-mail. As always, our parent crew members are very appreciated!
